Life’s. Little. Surprises.
The last thing seven-year-old Carrigan "Ace" Casper foresaw was an eight-year-old Heath Lovelly walking into her life the day her mother died. From that moment on, Heath sticks by her side, slowly becoming her strength, her confidant, and her entire world. What she doesn’t know is, she's his saving grace, too.
Ten years later, Ace is handed another crippling challenge that threatens everything in her almost perfect life. Only, this time, she doesn't turn to Heath, hiding the truth instead. But Heath knows Ace too well and won't back down easily. He's ready to do whatever it takes and will stay by her side until she accepts that their love is the kinda love worth fighting for.
Will he be her forever triumph or her unexpected downfall?
Two lives.
One story.
And an unexpected journey to falling in love.

First Sentence: Heartbreak.

I'm not normally one for romance, but Forever Kinda Love was a cute read.

Ace and Heath first meet in a hospital waiting room after Ace's mother dies. Fast forward ten years of friendship, Ace and Heath are ready to graduate high school and head off to college. Their feelings for each other are blossoming, but neither wants to make a move and potentially ruin that friendship that's helped both of them for so long.

I'll admit that, going into it, I thought it'd be a typical romance story between a cute, shy girl, and a popular, experienced player. And it kind of is. It's not a bad thing, just kind of. . . done to death.

I guess what pushes FKL ahead of the other best friend romances is that Ace and Heath are actual friends. Not kinda friends or characters who say they're friends and never spend a moment together unless it's to fawn over the other. Even without the romance, you can feel how much the two genuinely care for each other. It's a type of relationship that doesn't need to be defined because it's clear to the reader that Ace and Heath (Hace?) just belong together.

There were moments that made me roll my eyes, of course. Ace's, "How could a hot, sexy, studmuffin like that be into plain Jane me?" and Heath's, "I'm a player, but I really want to change for the right girl (aka Ace)," were so. . . typical. It's like you just want to slap the characters and scream, "Get over it, you're meant to be!"

Despite this, Clara Stone still manages to capture that awkward struggle bus romance that most of us wish we'd go through when we love someone and aren't sure they love us back. It's a quick, easy read full of fun, flirtiness, heartbreak, and all that good stuff. I finished it in half a day, so it's definitely something to look into if you need your daily dose of romance!
