Fangirl Official: Overdosing on Exo

I've been a huge k-pop fan for about a year now. My friends think it's weird, but are nice enough to tolerate it for me when I rave about it. Now I'm going to be weird to you guys and share my love of k-pop. For those of you who don't know what k-pop is, it's Korean pop music. So, think Gangnam Style, except not because Psy isn't really k-pop.

I've fallen in love with many groups, such as Girls' Generation, BigBang, and SHINEE, and now I have a new obsession: EXO. EXO is a twelve membered boy group separated into two subgroups: EXO-K and EXO-M. K promotes in Korea and M in China. At first I wasn't big on them because I thought twelve was too big a number for a group, but I watched the music video for their song Growl and got interested.

Old school hip-hop beats, sexy dancing, and hot guys. How can you not?

Naturally, when I heard they were coming out with a new mini-album, I had to check it out.

Just like Growl, Overdose is filled r&b and hip-hop undertones, but the sound is completely different. I don't know how to explain it, but the song is addicting and since I downloaded it Friday, iTunes says I've played it 368 times. .__. I think I'm going to overdose on this song.

The Chinese version and the Korean version both have their charms, and it's hard to decide which one I like more. I think the vocals and performance in the Chinese version was better, but the dancing and rapping in the Korean version was superior.

The music videos were fun too, and I think I liked EXO-K's version a little bit more, for the above gifs and this
Sehun being fabulous as usual.

I could do without the tragic N Sync ratchet ass ghetto outfits, though.

The mini-albums were good, especially Thunder, which I call the obligatory baby-making song every k-pop album needs to have.

Overall, this new comeback has officially made me a fan of EXO. They have good vocals, dancings, songs, and boys, so I hope to see more from them in the future.
